Can Prostatitis Cause Testicle Pain?

Prostatitis, which refers to inflammation of the prostate gland, can indeed lead to testicular pain in some instances. While prostatitis primarily affects the prostate and can cause symptoms like difficulty urinating, lower back pain, and discomfort in the pelvic area, the inflammation and associated infection can sometimes extend to nearby areas, including the epididymis – a tube at the back of the testicles that stores and carries sperm. This condition, known as epididymitis, can result in testicular pain and swelling. Additionally, because nerves in the pelvic region can be affected by the inflammation, referred pain may also be felt in the testicles.
