NSYNC Alum Lance Bass Posts First Pics of Twin Babies
Lance Bass shared his first pictures Sunday of twin newborns Violet Betty and Alexander James, born one minute apart on October 13, 2021, via a surrogate. Bass welcomed the new arrivals with husband, Michael Turchin.
Bass, 42, first announced the twins' birth to his followers on Instagram with photos of the two birth certificates, each of which included their footprints.
"I cannot express how much love I feel right now, Bass' Instagram message read. "Thank you for all the kind wishes. It meant a lot. Now, how do you change a diaper??! Ahhhhhhhh!"
In early June, Bass revealed his and his partner's journey to parenthood to People magazine. Past attempts at surrogacy had included failed IVF treatments or ended in miscarriage.
'When we went into IVF and surrogacy, we had no idea what it was all about. Pretty much every one we've known had bad luck at the beginning.'
"You have your vision of how it's all going to go, right?" Bass revealed exclusively to People magazine. "When we went into IVF and surrogacy, we had no idea what it was all about. Pretty much every one we've known had bad luck at the beginning. But to know that other people are going through the same exact thing, it's really comforting."
Speaking to Us Weekly in January 2021, Bass said, "We should have been following this with cameras because…we found a surrogate over a year ago, and I'm like, 'This will be the quickest process ever!' We're over a year now, we're on donor No. 7 and it looks like this is still working."
Even as early as June 2018, Bass told Us Weekly about the help he was getting to become a parent.
"We're excited about our families being involved. We're going to need a lot of night nurses in the beginning," Bass said. "We can't wait for our moms to come and take turns being night nurses. They've got to teach us what to do. We have no idea what we're doing."
Turchin—also a boy/girl twin—posted on Instagram, "They're pure perfection and yes that includes the dozens of poops we've already dealt with. Our hearts are full!!!"
